Miss Philippines Megan Young, 23, wins the crown of Miss World 2013 held in resort island of Bali, Indonesia, September 28, 2013. Megan Young defeated the 126 beauty candidates from different countries and make a history by becoming the first Filipina to win the title of Miss World.
"No words! Thank you so much for everyone for choosing me. I promise to be the best Miss World ever," Young said after being crowned
Megan Young, is currently studying digital media and appears in several TV shows in the Philippines, she entered the semi-final round with the highest score based on preliminary activities. Young topped the “Top Model” competition, placed fourth in the “Multimedia Challenge” and fifth in the “Beach Beauty” contest. She was also expected to win the title for being favorite of the crowd and bagging those awards before the coronation night.
Following by Miss World Megan Young were Miss France, Marine Lorphelin, 20, who took the second place, while Miss Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter, 22, is in third.
Megan Lynne Young was born in the US but moved in the Philippines at age 10 and since then she try to enter in the showbiz and began appearing in the TV after she lost in the reality talent show of GMA channel.
