After surviving in a breast cancer, Grammy award-winner Sheryl Crow recently announced that she has been diagnosed again with a common form of brain tumor.

The 50-year-old singer released the news last June 4 to a Las Vegas reporter, but thankfully, the tumor is benign. “I worried about my memory so much that I went and got an MRI. And I found out I have a brain tumor," Sheryl said.

"And I was, like, 'See? I knew there was something wrong,'" she added jokingly "I haven't really talked about it...But it's benign, so I don't have to worry about it. But it gives me a fit."

A rep from the singer told, “"Crow has no symptoms and everything is fine. It was a random mention during the Vegas interview. It was not meant to alarm anyone. She is doing great and is healthy and happy."

Causes of Benign Tumors

What causes a benign tumor to develop? Until today the real cause is still undefined. But the development of a benign tumor might likely linked to:

- Stress
- Local trauma or injury

Treatment for Benign Tumors:

In many cases, benign tumors need no treatment. Doctors may simply use "watchful waiting" or observing to make sure that they cause no problems. But treatment may be needed if symptoms are a problem.

Surgery is a common type of treatment for benign tumors. The main goal of treatment is to remove the tumor without damaging surrounding tissues. Other types of treatment may include medication or radiation for benign tumors.
